Traveling solo is probably the most exhilarating experience, especially for male travelers. They form one of the largest groups of backpackers; the ones who pay no heed to the fixed itineraries and just pomp and show. People often underestimate the experience of solo traveling in India, but in all honesty, this would bring them closer to the inherent diversity and the rich culture of the country. So, for all the male travelers out there, we’ve selected a few destinations where you can travel on your own to rediscover yourself.
Some of us like to travel by ourselves, alone without depending on anyone to give us company. Sometimes these solo journeys give a new meaning to our life. When you travel alone you are free to go to any extreme and discover places without waiting for anyone.
1) Orchha, Madhya Pradesh
Orchha in Madhya Pradesh is slowly emerging to be a hub of tourists. It is known for its fantastic architecture which dates back to the 15th century. The population in this town is estimated to be less than 10,000.
It is a perfect place for one to just walk through the monuments and spend enough time to observe their beauty without any interference. One can also opt to go for river rafting in the Betwa river to satisfy the adventure junkie in oneself.
2) Pushkar, Rajasthan
As Kasol is to Himachal, Pushkar is to Rajasthan! It is the hippie capital of the western part of India, where you will find a lot of babas, sadhus, and foreigners. Though Pushkar remains abuzz with activities throughout the year, Holi is one time when the entire town is painted with the hues of red. The time when Pushkar becomes livelier than before and everything here turns magical.
3) Tinchuley, West Bengal

The small village of Tinchuley has escaped from the rush of its neighbors, Siliguri and Darjeeling. An ideal destination for a quiet stroll through the forest pathways and perfect just to tune yourself out from the rest of the world. The village gets its name from the three main peaks which surround it and it resembles three chimneys. There are viewpoints set up on these peaks from where one can see Darjeeling, Gangtok, Kalimpong, and Mount Kanchenjungha.
4) Dzukou Valley, Nagaland
Dzukou means cold water in the local language of Angami, one of the languages of the 16 main Naga tribes. It is one of the most recommended treks to be taken in Nagaland, but the information available is very slim and incomplete. It is a hidden gem in the vast Nagaland, always welcoming its travelers. The valley is also famous for its stunning and beautiful varieties of flowers, which gives it another name as the Valley of Flowers.
5) Varkala
Tired of the beaches in Goa and Maharashtra? Well, it’s time you head to the coastal town of Varkala – a perfect destination for the male backpackers. This town in the state of Kerala will provide you the required serenity and some of the beautiful sights to behold. The high cliffs with mineral springs made Varkala rank as the destination with the best beaches in Kerala by the Discovery Channel.
Why Visit: To enjoy the sunbath, boat ride, Ayurvedic rejuvenation, and a real traveler scene.

Initially, the island was spread across an area of 1250 sq km, but thanks to the major soil erosion happening around here, this island is reducing in size.
7) Rann of Kutch
The rustic beauty, wildlife reserves, and historical sites make Kutch a must-visit destination for solo bikers across the globe. The beauty of the place lies in the fact that it has a desert on one side and sea on the other, which also maintains the ecological balance. The solo travelers get an opportunity to set up a camp in the middle of the vast wetland or the all-white salt marsh ground at the Rann of Kutch.
Why Visit: To experience the local culture of Kutch; visit the Indian Wildlife Ass Sanctuary and Mandvi Beach.
