With the sweltering summer at its peak, there’s nothing better than jumping into a cooling swimming pool. But why go to your neighborhood sports club, when you can travel to these incredible infinity pools that you’d never want to step out of! Since we are talking about infinity pools, here’s a fun fact – did you know infinity pools originated in France? The first vanishing edge concept was used in the Stag Fountain at the Palace of Versailles way back in the early 1600s! So, this summer travel smart and dive into these incredible swimming pools –
1. One&Only Reethi Rah, Maldives
Stretching out nearly 100 feet into a tranquil aquamarine lagoon, the infinity pool at One&Only Reethi Rah is the best one in Maldives. Besides its stunning location, what makes this pool even better is its jacuzzi tub on one end and a carved stone bed on the other. So, no matter which end of the pool you’re at, panoramic views never leave your side.
2. The Cambrian Hotel, Abelboden, Switzerland
The thought of swimming amidst snowy mountains may give shivers to many. But the luxurious, state of the art infinity pool at the famed Cambrian Hotel in Switzerland has given us a serious case of wanderlusting. The hotel’s gorgeous outdoor thermal infinity pool offers splendid views of the Alps and rolling valleys. Perfect way to unwind after a ski session, no?
3. Six Senses Yao Noi, Thailand
Situated on the island of Yao Noi, somewhere between Krabi and Phuket, each of the 54 villas at Six Senses Yao Noi comes with its own infinity pool. But that’s not the best part. The resort’s biggest draw is its surreal common infinity pool overlooking the blue waters of the Bay of Thailand. And away on the horizon you can see the jutting limestone pinnacles of the Phang Nga Bay.
4. Grace Santorini, Greece
Set on a cliff-edge, the infinity pool at Grace Santorini is the most swoon-worthy pool on Greece’s most romantic island. From its edge, you can treat your eyes with panoramic vistas of the azure Aegean Sea, the quaint whitewashed houses, and volcanic seascapes. But for a real treat, swim at dusk to enjoy the island’s fabled sunsets.
5. Hanging Gardens Ubud, Bali
Undoubtedly the most lavish and unique of its kind, water babies should place the infinity-edge pool at the Hanging Gardens Ubud hotel high up on their list. This two level pool is stunningly perched on cliffs amidst tropical rainforests, overlooking the Ayung River gorge and an ancient temple. Swim to the edge of the pool and swaying bamboo and cocoa trees, toucans and monkeys wave at you! What’s more? Each of the hotel’s 38 suites have their own infinity pool. This is certainly one of the tourist spots in Bali.
6. Four Seasons Safari Lodge, Serengeti, Tanzania
Set in the famous Serengeti National Park, the infinity pool at Four Season’s Safari Lodge offers sweeping views of the wild jungle. Although the pool is strictly for residents only, you might end up sharing it with some friendly, furry, non-residents. It’s not uncommon for elephants, giraffes, and zebras to wander to these pools for a sip of water.
7. Kura Design Villas, Uvita, Costa Rica
Snuggled between the sea and the thick jungles of Costa Rica, lies the spectacular L-shaped infinity pool of Kura Design Villas. Flanked with oversized purple hammocks and cozy white daybeds, this is the ideal spot to relax even for those who can’t swim! The best part about the pool? You can jam to underwater music (what!) as you dive in. Can’t get any cooler, we say.

9. Jade Mountain, St Lucia
Each of Jade Mountain’s 29 villas boast of their own private postcard-perfect infinity pool spilling into the Caribbean Sea while offering unbeatable views of the island’s Pitons, two volcanic mountains.
